Help Make a Difference in the Life
of an Individual with Brain Injury
The true impact of helping an individual with brain injury, their family and friends cannot be measured in dollars and cents, yet Brain Injury Association of London & Region relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations, community groups in supporting the programs and services that the Association offers to individuals in London and within the counties of Oxford, Elgin, Middlesex, Huron and Perth.
As an Association, we do not receive public funding to support those in need. Every dollar raised counts and goes towards supporting individuals, their family and friends in coping with a brain injury.
How giving benefits those with brain injuries:
- By providing opportunities to interact with and gain support from others including: brain injured survivors, family members and caregivers through support groups and conferences
- The provision of educational materials to individuals and families
- Peer Support Mentoring Program – survivors and care givers supporting each other through personal mentoring
- By helping to increase public awareness of the effects of brain injury
- To develop a comprehensive directory of services
- To publish and distribute a quarterly newsletter, The Monarch
- Helping to provide access to and planning for an annual Brain Injury conference
How giving benefits you:
The benefits of making a charitable donation are countless-from helping those in need to the personal satisfaction we feel when giving something back to a cause we feel passionate about. In addition, you will receive a charitable receipt for the full amount of your donation for Income Tax purposes.

Donation of Marketable Securites
- With proper planning, you can reduce your total income tax liability and maximize the value of your donation
- In an effort to increase charitable donations, the federal government has eliminated the capital gains tax on donations of publicly traded securities to public charitable organizations
- Qualified securities include: shares, bonds, and mutual funds listed on a prescribed stock exchange that have appreciated in value
- As with cash donations, the fair market value of property donated will reduce the donor’s taxes through a charitable donation tax credit
- If you have determined that you will be selling some of your current investments, you have an opportunity to reduce the tax you would otherwise have to pay on the sale of your investments if you donate the investments directly to a charity
- You will receive a tax receipt for the full amount of your donation
